W + a little black dress: quite the classic look!

July 18, 2012

Happy Wednesday!

W here to share one of my last posts in my current pregnant state.  With just over a week to go, I’m extremely anxious and excited all at the same time!

So as L mentioned a few days ago, we had several events to attend over the weekend.  I selected this LBD to wear to our cousin’s wedding (which was such a wonderful event!).  I searched for quite some time for the perfect dress to wear that would be comfortable, chic but not too expensive.  But unfortunately I came up empty-handed.  Then my dear friend Carrie came to the rescue!  She was so kind to let me borrow this dress from Gap’s maternity line.  The black ponte was the perfect fabric for a warm night, allowing me not to worry about wrinkles and to be very comfortable.  Paired with classic nude pumps, my new super sparkly pendant necklace from Ann Taylor, and trusty red lipstick - I was ready for a night of celebrating!

  • Dress, Gap Maternity
  • Shoes, Payless (sold out in tan online, but still available in black)
  • Necklace, Ann Taylor
  • Bracelet & ring, The Limited

A royal ruffle maxi day with W….

July 11, 2012

Good afternoon!

W here with a few maternity pics to share.  Hard to believe I only have two weeks left!  I’ve been feeling (and looking) pretty worn out lately, so decided to spruce up a bit and put on a ruffly black dress and some sparkly jewelry over the weekend.  As you have heard us say, wearing something sparkly can only make you feel better!

W in a maxi dress…and on the countdown!

July 6, 2012

Happy Friday!  Well my friends, I’m 20 days away from my scheduled c-section.  Hard to believe!  The one luxury you get when you have your first child via emergency c-section is that you get to have the second surgery put on the calendar months in advance.  I have to admit, it works out quite nicely with my overly anxious personality.  Although I’m still (yes, still) trying to get a nursery in order and my maternity leave plan arranged at work, I’m feeling ready for our little girl to arrive.  Maybe it has something to do with this crazy heat wave we are experiencing. To keep cool and comfortable, I’m wearing yet another maxi dress today. What can I say?  I’m totally hooked!

  • Necklace, The Limited (may still be available in stores)
  • Shoes, Target

W’s take on the maxi and summer blazer combination…

June 30, 2012

Good afternoon!

With just under four weeks to go until the arrival of our baby girl, I’m feeling anxious for sure.  Could it be that the nursery isn’t ready perhaps?  Ah yes, the joys of being a procrastinator.  One day you feel like you have months to go, and the next you realize that your huge space of time has dwindled to 30 days or less. So while I ponder how I’m going to complete a ton of work in short amount of time, let’s move over to something a bit more enjoyable: my outfit pairing.  For today’s look I’m wearing one of my favorite items - an oh so comfortable maxi dress.  If you have not ventured out to try one of these yet, it is a must!  To take away from the casual factor, I added a crisp white blazer that I came across during a recent shopping trip to The Limited.  This jacket is a great style as it features an open neckline and 3/4 sleeves, making this an item that even non office goers can get a lot of use out of.

  • Dress, The Limited (this dress was so fun that I couldn’t wait until after the baby to wear it…but it looks much better on a regular person than my prego self)
  • Blazer, The Limited (similar)
  • Shoes, Gianni Bini via Dillards
  • Bracelets, borrowed from L (and she can’t remember where they came from!)
  • Necklace, The Limited (similar)
