imageHello Lovely Readers~

Happy Tuesday! As much as Linds and I love to get dressed up, sometimes it’s nice to take a step back and pull together an effortless combo that allows you to be chic yet comfy. This is what we call our “casual chic” look. Jeans can be made dressy with a tweed jacket (like I’m wearing from a super sale at GAP last month), bright nails/lips combo,  or even a embellished top that you would normally reserve for dressier occasions. My look today required no ironing or donning of high heels - a definite hooray when you will be lifting a 25lb toddler in and out of the car multiples times.  Remember to mix texture and colors to create interest!

P.S. I’m loving my new Jack Purcell shoes that I picked up a few weeks ago. So comfy and perfect for causal days!

A Sweater Weather Day With W

image imageHello Lovely Readers!

Can you believe it is March? We certainly love the idea of spring being just around the corner! We’ve had a crazy week of snow and ice, so we have had to keep the boots and coats out for longer than we hoped.  Luckily last week we had some nice weather which was perfect for pulling out these new heels from Sole Society! They paired perfectly with this peplum fairisle sweater (make sure to check your local store for this as it’s super marked down!), classic white blouse and skinny jeans - all from The Limited. I finished off the look with this versatile necklace from Stella&Dot (new version here!) and Coach Legacy Haley satchel.

Happy Wednesday!

How To Style Boyfriend Jeans: A Casual Day With L…

Hello Lovely Readers~

Today’s feature is about the wearing the boyfriend jean trend. This is one of my favorite weekend looks for running errands because it’s so comfortable. I chose to pair my jeans (The Limited, also in petities now!) with a semi-slouchy sweater, and a pendant necklace (Stella&Dot). A leather satchel and suede booties add the finishing touch to this on-the-go look.

Have you tried the boyfriend jean look? What are your favorite pairings?

Purple + Leather: Date Night with L (37 weeks!)

imageHello Lovely Readers~

Today’s look features a date night outfit I wore this past weekend. I’m so happy the temps are starting to cool here, especially as I approach week 37! It’s hard to believe that baby Claire will be here soon, but at the same time I feel that I’ve been pregnant forever! I’m down to just the last few things in my maternity wardrobe that will fit. One of them being maxi dresses. Luckily I was able to take this maxi dress into fall by adding the leather moto jacket. What do you readers think? Is this an easy way to transition your summer pieces?

Have a wonderful day and happy shopping!

W and the Hunt for a Tribal Print Maxi!

September 10, 2013

Hello Lovely Readers~

It’s no secret that maxi dresses are my solution for effortless outfits in warm temp months. While some of you may already be donning long sleeves and layering with cardis, L and I are still experiencing temps well into the 90s. A no-fail recipe for staying cool and chic is wearing a printed maxi dress in a breezy fabric.

This tribal print dress from The Limited fits the bill perfectly. Admittedly, I had been on the hunt for a ikat print dress for a while. There was one I liked at Gap, but once I tried it on I could tell the dress wasn’t quite loving me back. Then lo and behold The Limited released a whole slew of new dresses last month.  As soon as I saw them online, I placed an order asap (thanks to a special promo going on)! The tribal/ikat print number is definitely going to be a fave for years to come. Although summer is over, I’m sure I will squeeze in another wear or two out of this dress. Chic and comfortable - can’t ask for more than that!
