Hi Everyone! With the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale just a week away we thought it would be a great time to share our top tips for shopping the sale! As a reminder, you can view the full catalog here. Also make sure to check out our other Nordstrom Anniversary sale posts here and here.
Here’s our Top 15 Tips:
Tip 1: Get a Nordstrom debit or credit card so you can have early access when the sale first opens on July 13th! It takes about a week for them to mail the card to you so definitely call the 800# {or go to your local Nordstrom or NordstromRack store} asap. We love that the debit card is free and allows you to connect to your personal bank account. Plus this still gives you access to the Nordstrom Rewards program and double points day!
Tip 2: Save money now. Okay that sounds easier than it is. But what we mean is maybe hold off on spending money on any non necessary shopping purchases because you will definitely find SO many things that you want at the anniversary sale.
Tip 3: Set a budget for how much you want to spend. Stick to it once the sale starts! Luckily there are several pay days that hit during the length of the sale, so you might want to set aside an amount to shop at two times during the sale.
Tip 4: Write out a list of the items you wore the most last fall and winter. Use this list to help guide your purchases once the sale starts.
Tip 5: Make a list of items that sold out last year that you weren’t able to grab in your size. For us it was several tops from the Leith brand, Nike shoes, B.P. leopard lace up flats and some items from the Kendra Scott collection specifically made for the anniversary sale.
Tip 6: Read old posts to get an idea of what will be included. You can see two of our most popular 2016 NSALE posts here and here.
Tip 7: Set your alarm if you plan to shop the sale online! For those that have a Nordstrom debit or credit card the sale should technically go live at 12:01 am on Thursday, July 13th. Public access to the sale will start at 12:01am PST on Friday, July 21st.
Tip 8: If you plan to shop in store, definitely contact your personal stylist if you have one! They will be able to pull items for you in advance which will save you lots of time. Some of them may even offer to send you photos in advance too.
Tip 9: If you are a Level 4 credit card holder than you get some extra special access! The day before the sale starts you will be able to shop in store and see all the new Anniversary sale merchandise 24 hours early. YIPPEE!
Tip 10: For those shopping in store, we suggest taking a phone charger and extra snacks. You will be there much longer than you plan, trust us! We always go to Dallas to shop since Oklahoma doesn’t have any Nordstrom stores. We always have dead phones by the end of our fun sister shopping excursion. (I mean look at all the booties there will be to try on this year!)
Tip 11: Get gifts for the upcoming holidays! The Anniversary sale has some of the best under $50 gift items that you will see all year. From throw blankets and candles to serving trays and coffee table books, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale home section definitely doesn’t disappoint.
Tip 12: Don’t forget to check the makeup section. We suggest going there first! The special edition items and value kits always go SO fast. The MAC lip kits are on the top of that list for sure.
Tip 13: Download the Nordstrom app. Updates and such will be added there as the sale starts and goes through August 6th
Tip 14: If you don’t like something, don’t worry! There’s no expiration date on returns, which is absolutely amazing. Plus they are FREE! We wish all stores had the same policy LOL.
