Affordable Transition Pieces for Fall + Trends We Love

As girls all about looking chic without going over budget, these outfits are a perfect example of high low mixing that we use all the time when putting together looks. The fall is full of things we love: cool weather, pumpkin spice and of course new clothes! Chunky knit sweaters, wedge booties, and moody florals are always on our wish list. Last week we had so much fun shopping at Walmart.com to find some new transitional pieces for fall to share with you all.

Our looks are focused on several of Walmart’s top trend list for fall. We love them all but picked out our top favorites to put together for our coordinated outfits today.

Walmart recently updated their website and it’s amazing! It’s definitely even easier to shop from your phone and computer thanks to the new site design and features.

We had so much fun shopping the Lord & Taylor exclusives and ordered several items to share with you all. So without further ado, here’s all the details on our transitional fall looks featuring denim, floral and the must have booties!

Lindsay’s Fall “IT List” Look

For today’s sister style outfits, Lindsay is wearing this Ruffle Peplum Top in the cutest mustard yellow floral. It is such a great price at just $15 and comes in sizes S – XL. It features flattering ruffles at the waist and is perfect to wear on its own or layered with a cardigan. Speaking of cardigans, this Mossy Waffle Cardigan is a new favorite! We can’t believe it’s under $17 and has pockets too. Lindsay is wearing the size small for an oversized fit. It’s available in 6 colors {she has on the Oatmeal Melange} and sizes S – XL.

Now for these must have distressed jeans from Walmart’s Time and Tru brand! They have a great amount of stretch and the high rise fit is flattering too. Honestly, we could not believe these jeans cost less than $17! They do run small so go up a size for the perfect fit. If you are under 5’5 then the petite version will be great for you. I love how they look so cute with these on trend wedge booties. They feature lace up ties and come in both whole and half sizes. They will be getting so much use this fall and winter! We found them to be a half size large, so go down a half size for the best fit.

Last but not least, it’s time for accessories! This is where the high low mixing comes in! Since we saved so much on our tops, jeans and cardigans we were able to order more expensive bags and jewelry. While browsing for the perfect cross body bag, I came across these new circle bags from Design Lab, which is one of the premium brands included in the Lord & Taylor shop! This bag is such a great price, comes in three colors and has both a cross body and wristlet strap. It even comes in blush option too!

Lindsay’s layered necklace features both gold and silver {making it very versatile} and added the perfect finishing touch to her cardigan / blouse look. This necklace is from Lucky Brand, which is another popular brand included in the Lord & Taylor shop. Whitney’s Fall “IT List” Look

For today’s look, I’m also wearing this on trend Ruffle Peplum Top but in the black, green and deep red floral pattern. At just $15, it’s one of the most affordable tops we’ve bought this fall. It comes in sizes S – XL and I’m wearing my usual size small so would say it runs true to size.

I liked this new Mossy Waffle Cardigan so much that I wanted to wear it too. This fall hued shade is called Olive Branch Melange and will be great to mix and match with for months to come. I’m wearing the size small which is my usual size so we would say it runs true to size. It’s available in 6 colors including black, grey, cream and burgundy!

I’m also wearing the Time and Tru Core Skinny Jean in the dark destructed wash. The fit is flattering and they are available in three washes. I went up one size for the perfect fit. I thought it was such a cool idea to add a patch under the distressing at the knee. This is a great thing to have when the temps get colder.

These wedge booties are a new favorite! They have great reviews which is no surprise now that I’ve had a week to wear them. They feature lace up ties and come in both whole and half sizes. They will be getting so much use this fall and winter! As mentioned above, they run about a half size large so we suggest going down a half size for the best fit. They are selling out quickly online so don’t wait to check out!

I always look for a great statement bag with each new season. This Design Lab circle cross body bag is the perfect thing for a range of outfits from casual to dressy.
