Happy Tuesday!
We are excited to partner with Ann Taylor today to share some chic mix and match outfit ideas. September is a just a few days away which in our book means that fall is practically here! Now that the temps will be cooling off soon, Lindsay and I on the hunt for the best blouses, skirts, and more for us – and you too! We are all about putting together oh so fun fall outfit combinations that can mix and match effortlessly for your work day, out of office meetings, business casual events and so much more. For today’s sister style look we are going to share our no fail outfit combo for looking chic in just a matter of minutes! Flattering skirts and versatile blouses are the simplest way to tackle your day in style without sacrificing comfort.
Three Mix and Match Pieces You Need This Fall
The most useful category in your closet this fall will definitely be all about blouses! From button down styles to the “camp” style blouses we each have on in today’s look, Ann Taylor has a wide variety of tops that you will love. From stripes and florals to animal prints and solids, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite options below. The best part about these is they can be not only worn with skirts, but also pants and jeans! We love finding items that can be worn for both the work days and weekends.
The next step in putting together your mix and match look is a finding a skirt! We are loving all the new arrival skirts that are at Ann Taylor right now. Whether you like A-line or straight silhouettes {or something in between}, you all should check out the wide range of options available in the current selection at Ann Taylor. We love how so many of the skirts also come in petite and tall options. There’s definitely something for everyone!
No fall look is complete without a new shoe! We can never have enough plaid, bows, leopard and suede shoes when the fall comes around. There are so many classic and contemporary options at Ann Taylor so it was hard to narrow it down to just a few to show you all.
Whether you like kitten heels, flats, wedges or sandals style – we know you will be impressed with the shoes you all pick out at Ann Taylor. We just ordered these plaid bow ties shoes and they are so comfy and run true to size. We can’t wait to wear them!
Now that we’ve shared our no fail formula for creating looks that will help you get the most out of your fall wardrobe, here’s more info on our coordinated sister style looks today.
Lindsay’s Plaid + Pink Look:
Blouse (TTS) – Ann Taylor c/o // Skirt (TTS) – Ann Taylor c/o // Bag – TDE // Scarf // Belt (TTS) // Necklace – Moon & Lola
As a lover of all things pink, it was no surprise that Lindsay had to have this pink camp blouse from our recent sister shopping outing. The color is called “desert blossom” and is available in sizes XXS-XXL in both regular and petite. Lindsay is wearing her usual XS here so we’d say it runs true to size. It’s available in several colors as well as a slim version here.
For step 2 she picked out this pleated skirt featuring the perfect versatile plaid. The skirt is fully lined and is available in sizes 00-18 in both regular and petite sizes. It hits at the knee and runs true to size. It has a Parisian feel to it and it would also look so cute with flats and a t-shirt for a relaxed glam look.
Last but not least, every girl needs a great pair of black ankle strap heels. Lindsay’s current pair is sold out but we are loving the Leannette Suede sandals which are very similar. They are very comfortable and look great with dresses, skirts and pants. For sizing reference, we both go down a 1/2 size in them for the perfect fit. We both just ordered them in the “brown toffee” shade. They are the perfect fall hue for sure.
Now if you are feeling a little “extra” then you definitely need to grab a scarf to polish off your look! Lindsay tied this plaid silk square scarf around her bag and I think it’s the cutest. It would be so chic tied around your neck, wrist or ponytail too. Here’s just a few other scarves available right now that would be a great addition to your closet for sure.
Whitney’s Raspberry + Leopard Look:
Leopard Blouse (TTS) – Ann Taylor c/o // Belted Flare Skirt (TTS) – Ann Taylor c/o // Bag – Mali & Lili // Bow Heels (Size down 1/2 size) // Monogram Necklace – Moon & Lola
While my favorite color is purple, I actually buy a lot more things in pink for sure! The case is true for this new arrival bow tie skirt in this rich raspberry shade. I love the flattering A-line style and removable sash. You can tie it in a bow or a loop like in the stock image above. It’s fully lined and lightweight making it a great transitional item. This belted flare skirt runs true to size and is available in sizes 0-18 in both regular and petite sizes.
Nothing says fall to me like animal print! The current collection at Ann Taylor is full of cheetah and leopard prints which we are so excited about. For today’s look I’m wearing the same camp style shirt that Lindsay has on but in the leopard print. It runs true to size and is so comfortable! I can’t wait to wear it with jeans this weekend for a date night. It’s been a super popular item so don’t wait to check out with it! It comes in regular, petite and tall sizes. If your size is sold out in the regular, then you could go up a size in the petite for another option. It is even cuter in person and we know you all will love it!
Now for step three: the shoes! I’m wearing the Rosalyn suede heels in black and they are so comfy. I went down a half size for the perfect fit. These oh so cute heels come in pink and blue too. If you are looking for a great shoe for fall, make sure to check out the options we included earlier in our post as well as below. The quality and comfort are top notch!
