Whitney and I are so thrilled to bring you our first “Get Ready With Us” post today. Now that the fall is here, there seems to be events popping up on our calendars like crazy! It’s the perfect time to get your beauty arsenal ready for all the fun girl’s nights, weekend brunches, holiday parties and cocktail events. Today Whitney and I are are showing off a dramatic eye look that we are loving! I have on a more subtle version while Whitney is wearing a bold berry combo!

Now back to our tutorial! When it comes to a bold eye look, you don’t have to have a drawer full of products to create the look.
Whitney and I used only 5 items to create this beautifully dramatic look in just four steps.
Step 1: Prep – We love this Bobbi Brown cream shadow alone or as an eyelid primer. It is a gorgeous mix of plum, taupe and just a bit of sparkle. It creates a smooth canvas for applying eye shadow. It doesn’t crease and provides a long lasting foundation for simple to dramatic eye looks. You can apply it with your finger or this Bobbi Brown eye shadow brush if you prefer. The brush is so soft!!
Step 2: Layer – The next step is customizable based on how bold you want your look to be. I used two shades {far left purple and far right light pink} of this 5 shade Lancome palette to create a pop of color perfect to show off our green eyes. Use this Bobbi Brown eye shadow brush to apply light layers of color until you have reached your preferred color density.
For a bold look that is on trend right now, Whitney used all five shadows in the Lancome Color Design 5 pan palette in Rose Tempte. The light pink shade is the perfect under brow accent. Apply this shade first, followed by the middle burgundy plum shade all over the lid. She then used the deep gray as a corner accent. The long purple strip at the bottom of the palette can be used as a liner or as another accent shade. It has the prettiest shimmer!
Whitney also has a secret step for awesome color pay off: use a damp eye shadow brush. It provides extra depth and longevity that is sure to get you some major compliments.
Step 3: Line – Here’s another trick that we use when it comes to eye liners. One liner doesn’t always fit all your needs. We love using this long wear Bobbi Brown liner on the water line of the lower lid. It doesn’t run and gives the perfect dramatic edge. We both then applied it to our top lid as well. But our trick is that you don’t just stop there. Use this new Lancome bendable neck liner to create the perfect flick at the edge of the eye. By applying the solid liner first, it gives you a line with which to base the liquid liner on without fear of creating an uneven swoosh. It works every time! Definitely give it a try if you are wary of applying liquid liner.
Step 4: Volumize – Last but not least, LASHES! Bold eye looks aren’t complete without several layers of mascara. This new Grandiose Extreme mascara from Lancome is amazing at separating and volumizing lashes. We love the special angled handle too as it allows you to get extra close to the lash line. When it comes to a dramatic eye look, our motto is the more mascara, the better!
Here’s a closeup of our different eye shadow looks once completed. Now it’s time to share a few products we used to finish off our girl’s night looks:
1. Lips: We always love pink lips. The right shade can liven up your look and make your teeth look whiter. I applied this new lip crayon in “drive to pink” to give the perfect color pop. It comes in 10 other shades too if you prefer something more subtle. The consistency of the lip color allows it to be applied evenly so no lip liner is needed. The color stays bold all day long and won’t dry out your lips either.
2. Blush: How gorgeous is this Cheek Pop blush from Clinique? We love soft baby pink cheeks and this new product provides just that. It’s available in 11 shades too so there’s definitely something for every color preference. The powder formula provides long lasting color as well. We also LOVE applying our foundation with this Artis oval brush, and this NM exclusive Artis oval brush set is on our wish list!
3. Hair: Last but not least, you all have probably heard about the Oribe dry texturizing spray by now since it is soooo popular! Last month Whitney ordered some as we had to see what all the buzz was about. We already love it. It smells amazing and gives some much needed lift and texture to our curls. The bottle will last forever too since you don’t need much at all. It’s easy to see why it’s now one of NM’s best sellers.
