Hello Friends!
I’m so excited to re-share my living room makeover reveal with you all today! It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since the huge reveal! This project was the last big part of our home remodel and I’m absolutely thrilled with how it all turned out! As soon as my husband and I moved into our “new to us” house a few years ago, I immediately envisioned a chic living room space that would be the focal point for our home and would be the perfect warm & inviting space for years to come. Our home had amazing bones but needed a lot of updating to make it into our dream home. I’m so thrilled we are finally done with renovating!
From removing tile floors to tearing out a free-standing fire place, this renovation was definitely a large undertaking. Once my husband and I decided on our goal aesthetic for the space I immediately reached out to fabulous Micah Abbananto, owner of Micah & Co to help make our dream a reality! She is immensely talented and helped me step by step through the remodel project and into the decorating stages with such ease. I truly couldn’t have made any of this happen without her immense attention to detail and incredible talent. You all will LOVE working with her! Stay tuned for the end of this post for more details about Micah and her talented team!
Now that you’ve seen the amazing reveal thanks to Micah Abbananto, I thought it would be fun to show you all the before of our remodel and design project. It’s still so crazy to look back at the before photos and to truly see how far our living room has come!
Before & After!
Here is our home at purchase {it’s about 25 years old}. As you can see we had our work cut out for us.
Here is once we started demo once we purchased the house. The fireplace was off center and visible as soon as you walked in the front door. Thankfully it was not load bearing so it was an easy decision to take it out. Removing it opened up the space so much!
This picture was just after the large grey tile was torn out along the whole first floor. We replaced the flooring with Provenza handwork in Ash. I absolutely love that it’s on trend and bright but still provides warmth to the space.
Here is a look at the first stages of the remodel that included adding arched insets and a new fireplace as the focal point.
We also had the castone fireplace surround made custom here in Oklahoma City. I love how it dresses up the space and adds the perfect touch of relaxed sophistication.
The final reveal!

I also loved how seamlessly the new living room design worked with Micah’s dining room design for our home. Here is a look at that amazing space!

I’m so pleased with how the remodel turned out for this area! Micah from Micah & Co helped me find the perfect pieces to help my ideal aesthetic flow from our modern yet chic living room into the dining area. During the last step of the project, Micah and I discussed that the room needed a beautiful piece of art to finish off the space. We both agreed Abbey Ratcliff’s artwork would absolutely perfect for the space. I was so thrilled she was available to paint a custom piece for me based on the size I needed for the space. Isn’t it so stunning!?!
Artwork by Abbey Ratcliff
This gorgeous custom piece painted by local artist Abbey Ratcliff features acrylic, charcoal, fiber paste, linen, house paint, modeling paste, pastels, as well as graphite on canvas. This is a 48 x 60 piece that is framed in natural maple frame. My family couldn’t be happier that our dining room now has this beautiful piece of art as a focal point. The combination of materials and colors she used provides a unique blending of neutrals, texture and sereneness I wanted for the dining room. It’s definitely so perfect for the space!
