Hello Lovely Readers!
Today W and I are excited to introduce you to a fabulous blogger/styling duo – the Style Spies, Mollie & Erin! They are best friends just like us! They are so sweet and of course always chic and stylish. We love following their blog for the perfect mix of personal styling advice and shopping finds. Without further ado… here is what we asked this stylish team. 🙂
1. You have been friends for a long time – Do you have different styles in clothing?
E: Yes and no! I think we are both classic with a little bit of edge but we definitely have our own styles! We both stay on trend so that brings us together too!
M: We both strive for a classic look, but funk it up in different ways. Since Erin’s been in Houston, she’s been ‘a little more country’ but in a chic way…….and as a Chicago girl for a long time, I tend to layer, layer, layer.
2. One word to describe each others style!
E: Mollie’s style is ‘fun’!! M: Erin’s style is definitely ‘glam’!
3. Favorite article of clothing?
E: Right now my Clare Vivier Leopard Clutch, it seems to go with everything, day or night!
M: I can’t stop wearing my black Helmut Lang Smoking Tux Blazer. Obsessed!!!!
4. Do you have a favorite ‘friend moment’ that you can share with us?
E: YES! (As I am laughing out loud!) Mollie and I went to Hawaii together YEARS ago and in our cute little vacation clothes, I decided to have my favorite treat, Junior Mints on the plane. Needless to say, part of that cookie fell in my lap and I did not know it until it had melted in my groin area! We laughed until we were crying hysterically. Definitely a moment I will never forget! And she won’t let me forget!!!
M: I definitely won’t let her forget that! It still makes me cry, laughing so hard, when we talk about it! For me, just this past Fall, Erin and I spent a total of about 24 hours together at Fashion Week in NYC. It was just so good to come together and collaborate on our business and be with a great friend! I can’t wait for the next NYFW!
5. First memory of loving fashion?
E: As a child I remember being so preoccupied with what I wanted to wear and having all of the latest trends – my poor parents! I was definitely and athlete too but I was one of the only girls that made sure my hair was done with lipgloss on the basketball court!
M: I remember I was VERY concerned about my first day of school outfit every year. One in particular stands out – in about 4th grade, I wore a pink and white striped maxi skirt with a matching 3/4 sleeve top, keds, and a pink ribbon. I thought it was SO grown up, and had the best first day in that outfit!
6. Biggest influence (person) on your style?
E: My mom. I remember all of her St John and Chanel structured blazers growing up (some of which I am lucky to have now!) and have so many memories of her classic wardrobe. She was always telling me while growing up not to be ‘too trendy’ – and I wish I would have listened. Now, I try and live that classic look too.
M: My grandmother. She was always fabulous, in her Ferragamo flats and St John knits, never a hair out of place, and glamourous jewelry. I loved how ‘fancy’ she was, and have tried to emulate that in a more modern way.
7. Something fun we don’t know about each of you!?
E: I am naturally a blonde! I started dying my hair brown a few years ago after my 2nd daughter was born just for a change. Now, I can’t imagine going back blonde. I feel like it suits my skin tone better and it is low maintenance. However, every few months my husband asks me when I will go back to my ‘normal’ hair!
M: In my 10 years of marriage, my husband and I have lived in 4 different states! Though I like adventure and trying new things, I hope we’re settled for a while! 😉
