But before we get to our recommendations, we had to showcase this Eliza J jacquard dress again. It’s even more stunning in person! The jeweled neckline, perfect pleats, and shimmery floral fabric makes this purple cocktail dress a winner from top to bottom. The best parts about this dressย are the fit is slimming and the fabric doesn’t wrinkle. Nothing worse than attending an event to find out midway through that your dress looks like you left it on the floor for a week. ๐
Right now this dress is available here with free shipping. Now to our top picks for your next fancy event!
For our first group of dress selections, we have gone with the quintessential A line style. These dress style looks good on anyone and is great for hiding a few extra pounds if you happen to not want something snug around the hips. ๐ We have a found some adorable dresses that are good for year round events and are all under $150 with free shipping. Several are under $100!
Our next dress type is the pencil / sheath dress style. This looks good on everyone too! Plus it’s perfect for pairing with a blazer or cardigan. These options featuring some above the knee, knee length and even a midi option for those that might like to cover up their knees.
Finally we are on to non-traditional style: jumpsuits! There’s something extra chic about showing up to an event in a sleek jumpsuit. We have a hard time wearing them because we both have long torsos (hello bathing suit problems too) but that doesn’t mean you can’t! These options shown below are timeless and would be great paired with a blazer if you need more coverage.
Thanks for stopping by today and we’d love to hear what you are wearing for NYE!

I love this dress on you! I have the same one. I need to wear a shrug with it and don’t know which color to go with. Grey, lilac? What would you suggest?

Hi Natasha!
We love this dress too! I recently wore it with a faux fur stole (for an event) and then I can see pretty grey or lilac cardigan with it as well. If you are trying to make the dress casual and fun, a cute tailored/cropped denim jacket would be another idea. Just make sure to wear a metallic shoe or something not too matchy to the cardigan and you’ll be good to go!

Thank you! I’m still on the search for a grey shrug, lilac is impossible to find that isn’t a full sweater. Denim is a great idea, too. I appreciate the help!
