Perfect Affordable Fall Cardigans | Lately With Lindsay & Whitney

We are so excited to bring you all a brand new fall outfit post with Nordstrom today featuring affordable cardigans for now and later! The temperatures here in Oklahoma City have started to drop and we can finally enjoy some fall layers. We love October weather as it’s cool enough to wear a sweater or vest but not cold enough to cover it all up with a coat.

As soon as the season starts to change we always take an inventory of what we need for the upcoming months. Layering tanks, suede booties, distressed jeans, lightweight sweaters and cardigans always make the list. Then we head online {as busy moms to three girls we rarely get to shop in store} to find the cutest items at the best prices. It’s no surprise that we are major Nordstrom shoppers.

Not only do they have the most amazing selection online for women {as well as men and kiddos} but they have FREE shipping and returns which makes both of our lives easier. Plus we are part of the free rewards program so we earn points on each purchase good towards Nordstrom Notes that can be used on future purchases. Their customer service team is top notch as well. They even price match! Between all the perks and industry-best customer service, we will forever be loyal Nordstrom buyers.

So once Linds and I narrowed down our wish list, we went online to find the best options that fit our budget and wardrobe needs. For today’s sister style looks we wanted to find:

1. Distressed jeans under $75 {check!}
2. Cardigans under $50 {check!}
3. Layering tank under $60 {check!}
4. Booties that will go with EVERYTHING {check!}
5. Tote bags that will last for years to come {check!}

Sure enough, we found SO many amazing options at Nordstrom that it was hard to narrow it all down. But as the professional shoppers that we are {totally kidding, but would be a fun job LOL} we were able to quickly decide on all the items we needed PLUS get it to my house in just two days thanks to the $9 expedited shipping option. Talk about instant gratification. This feature will come in such handy as the holidays near and you need gifts or a last minute outfit for an event or party. It’s always such a life saver!!! But if you don’t need the items for a few days then the free shipping options is perfect.

Lindsay’s Look

Lindsay is wearing this mauvey taupe heathered cardigan with front pockets. This has to be one of THE very softest cardigans ever. It feels like pajamas! We don’t know how they made it to feel so amazing – and to cost under $50!! It comes in three colors and runs true to size. Linds is wearing her normal size XS here. It’s so cute layered over this ruffle edge cami with lace trim. The tank does run small so we suggest sizing up for comfort. It turned out to be the perfect layering piece and so glad we grabbed it before checking out.

These under $65 distressed jeans get rave reveiws and it’s to no suprise. The stretch and fit are top notch. They do stretch a bit through the day so if you are betewen sizes then we suggest going down. The length is great too for those of you that aren’t super tall. I’m 5’5 and they are a great length for me.

As we mentioned above, affordable booties are always on the fall shopping list. This filagree taupe pair has been such a great purchase. The style comes in three colors and just went on promo for 20% off. We are definitely grabbing a second color! It does run a tad small so if between sizes then go up a half size.

When it comes to a great bag, it has to be durable, classic, and pretty! We can definitely say that the new Parker tote from Tory Burch meets all the criteria and more. This imperial garnet shade is SO perfect for fall. We each also own the same bag in the tan shade and it’s a perfect neutral. From the sturdy saffiano leather and comfy handles to the amazing storage and built in front pocket – this bag will sure to be your favorite too.

Last but not least, Linds had to add some bling to her look. We love how Nordstrom carries a wide variety of affordable pieces from BaubleBar. This layered necklace has been a best seller and we can see why. The dainty circles provide the perfect amount of shine that makes it a great option for both casual and dressey looks.

Whitney’s Look:

I always love all things burgundy. As soon as I saw this $45 cardigan I knew it would be perfect to mix and match with all fall and winter. It comes in four colors but has been SO popular that just a few colors are left at the moment. It runs true to size and is super soft. Definitely grab it now before it sells out completely. I can see why it’s been so popular! Fingers crossed for a restock soon because I want the tan and gray asap. 🙂

These Wit & Wisdom jeans are stretchy and are the most comfortable jeans I’ve bought in some time. They run true to size but do stretch a smidge so size down if you are between sizes. I love the frayed hem and the slight distressing at the knee. I definitely give them two thumbs up. Plus the price tag of $68 makes these a great budget friendly find.

It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for all things leopard, so it was a no brainier when I saw these Vince Camuto booties. They are a bit pricier than most booties I buy. But they are such fabulous quality and I know they will be wardrobe staples for years to come. I love how cute they look with this classic York tote from Tory Burch. Linds and I were so thrilled to see all six colors are back on the website. It is hands down our fave tote that can fit a laptop in it. We are so glad you all can buy it again. We thought the style was sold out for good!

Last but not least, I’m loving this delicate gold tassel necklace with charms. It’s part of the recent Kendra Scott collection. The charms are removable making this yet another versatile piece for your jewelry collection.

It’s been a while since we given you all a life update about us. We often keep things pretty surface level since our blog is so much about our outfits and deals. But Linds and I are working on changing that so you can get to know us better. So here goes! 🙂

1. Lindsay’s little girl just turned 4 this week! I love being “Aunt Whitney” and can’t wait to celebrate her birthday at the pumpkin patch this weekend.

2. My little girls are in school all day for the first time ever! It’s been so nice having one place to drop them off and pick them up each day. For those moms out there with kiddos in half day programs and such, you totally know how crazy it is to have multiple schedules and schools.

3. Fall is one of our favorite times of the year, but it’s SO busy. Between our jobs and the blog – plus both of our husband’s busy schedules – it’s a lot to manage. Plus soccer, ballet etc. thrown in means there’s never a dull moment around our homes LOL.

4. We’ve attended some really fun local events! CosBar and Evereve just opened up in Classen Curve in OKC. It was so much fun getting to go to their opening events. Athleta just opened a new store too. It’s gorgeous!

5. AND last but not least things have gotten so busy for us and the blog that we have super fun news: TheDoubleTakeGirls LLC is hiring!!!! Linds and I are on the hunt for a paid intern to help us stay on top of all the fun projects and day to day work it takes to keep our blog running.
