Happy Tuesday!
Today is our birthday! Hooray! So it’s pretty funny but we realized that after nearly 8 years of blogging we’ve never shared our age with you all! This was of course never done because we were embarrassed about our age or anything like that. We’ve just never had a reason to mention it LOL. But in a honor of our birthday today we thought it would be fun to actually share it with you all, so here goes… Lindsay and I are turning 37 today!
I was born first and I am six minutes older than Lindsay. So it’s just enough to make me the older sister all these years LOL. But it’s definitely so nice to share a birthday with your best friend. We are both so grateful for this!!
Funny enough my husband’s birthday was actually just a few days ago so it’s just one full week of celebrations for us it seems like. But thankfully having a birthday on the 10th is still enough time away from the 25th. So growing up we never really had to worry about having to share a birthday with Christmas. But I will say it is fun having all of the holiday decorations up when it is your birthday because it makes it extra festive!
Before we share the details on our sequin sister style outfits we thought it would be really fun to do a little round up of some of our favorite things that have happened this year!
1. Lindsay and her family moved and renovated a gorgeous home! – You can see a look at their stunning master bedroom here. I love that we have a bright and modern space to shoot our photos in now. She’s working on the kitchen remodel now and it’s going to look amazing!!
2. We cut our hair! – This might sound a little silly to include in our highlights reel, but we have both had long hair our entire lives. So when we finally decided to cut it 5-6 inches it was a big deal for us. We are loving it shorter and can’t think Tracey of @traceydoeslife / Meraki Hair for giving us fresh color and a modern hairstyle. She’s amazing!
3. Whitney got a new car – So this is a bit off topic, but I have driven the same car for years because it was paid off and there was nothing technically wrong with it. But it was small and always a hassle with getting car seats in and out plus transporting stuff for work. So for years I’ve been wanting an SUV and my husband was so sweet to surprise me with one this past year!! My little girls love it and we are so thankful for the extra space and ability to cart all the things around for photo shoots etc.
4. Blog projects – While we didn’t travel much this year, Lindsay and I were so excited to be able to put extra time into our blog and creating new content for you all. As you know, we are all about sharing budget friendly deals and we feel like we have definitely accomplish that this year.

5. Lindsay had a BABY! – So the most important of all the things this year is that Lindsay and her husband welcomed a sweet baby girl to their family in October. Ella is a pure angel and I love getting to be an auntie to her. She is growing so fast and couldn’t get any cuter!! Lindsay is doing a great job juggling work, her teaching job {she’s a registered dietitian and teaches at a local university} and two kiddos. Although she could definitely stand for some more sleep though! LOL 🙂

Now for the details on our party looks! When we were trying to figure out outfits to wear for our birthday post, we knew these gorgeous sequin shift dresses would be the perfect thing. They come in sizes XXS – XXL and are fully lined! The style is super flattering and is so cute with or without tights. It runs tts but if between sizes or you have wide shoulders than size up.
