Happy Wednesday!
It’s the official reveal of my new living room!! I’ve been waiting for this day for quite some time! For a bit of background, several years ago my husband and I {plus our two little girls} moved into a home that’s about 50 years old and we renovated 90% of it and knocked down lots of walls, vaulted the living room ceiling, replaced all the floors, etc.
It was such a big project {and time consuming} that we never ended up finishing buying the furniture and decor we needed / had originally envisioned for house. I’m one of those people that is all or nothing so I just let it all kind of sit until I was 100% sure what theme I wanted. Sounds silly I know!! But it definitely makes for a good before and after transformation, right? 🙂
After following some of my favorite home bloggers the last year {Sandi and Shalia of The Spoiled Home, Erin of CottonStem, Erin of My Texas House and Sabrina of GypsyTan} it gave me the inspiration and encouragement needed to finally tackle my home decor project!
I love lots of different decor styles and color themes but decided to go with tones of charcoal, light gray, winter white, brass, etc. I wanted my living room to be relaxed but with a touch of glam – and of course a little bit of the things I loved from all my favorite home decor accounts. So without further ado, here’s all the photos for my Fall Home Refresh with Soft Surroundings!
Here’s the oh so chic items from Soft Surroundings that I used to update my living room:
1. Fuzzy pillows – Doesn’t ever home need some statement pillows? As soon as I saw these Drancy shag pillows I new they’d pair well with my new chairs. They are perfect for adding some neutral pizzaz. 🙂
2. Ombré rug – This Roussillon rug comes in many sizes and features tones of gray, winter white, muted gold and a touch of teal. I love how one side of the rug is lighter than the other giving it an on trend ombré effect. It’s very soft too and my girls love laying on it!
3. Coffee table – This Katrina coffee table is unlike any I’ve seen! The two levels makes it very functional. It’s very well made and it’s a great size for a larger room.
4. Home accents – To add some fall decor touches, I added in this pumpkin pillow, these Hot Skwash cream velvet pumpkins in size small and medium, a sparkly pine cone arrangement and this mid-sized painted lantern.
Now that I’ve shared about my new space, here are easy ways to refresh your decor for fall and winter!
1. Decorative pillows
2. Throw blankets
3. Rugs
4. Accent decor

On side note, we are having a distressed wood beam installed in our cathedral ceiling of our living room soon and I can’t wait to pick out a light figure. Which one below is your favorite? We can’t wait to hear what you all think!
Also, here are some of the additional items I used for creating my new living room. Everything is currently in stock too! 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by my very first home post today! I would love to hear what you all think! My dining room is next and I can’t wait to show it to you all! It will be more of the same tones plus a gallery wall!
